BEYSAD-OZYEGIN University Towards “Industry 4.0 Excellence Center”
6 May 2016

We, as BEYSAD, would like to gladly share with you the information that we will carry on our activities under the title “BE4” in order to strengthen the leading position of our sector in terms of Industry 4.0 and to enable the creation of sector-wide solutions, as we did in the previous period.

In this scope, a shared project has been initiated by BEYSAD and Ozyegin University in cooperation with TUSIAD, to build an “Industry 4.0 Excellence Center”to support our members during the transition to Industry 4.0 with pilot projects, consultancy, training and R&D. As a part of this project, a need analysis workshopwas held in Ozyegin University Cekmekoy Campus Innovation Center on 6 May 2017 Saturday from 10.00 to 17.00 to work on the design of the Center.

Considering that the Industry 4.0 transition and the Center to be built are of top priority for our sector and more importantly, for our country, we believe that the common mind to be created with this workshop will gain a structure that adds value to all our partners in the project. The purpose of this workshop was to begin to design the Industry 4.0 Excellence Center in a participative and innovative approach. Therefore, in the workshop we think that experience exchanges and innovative suggestions of all the relevant partners in relation to the needs of the respective institutions about the Industry 4.0 made a great contribution.

The workshop was attended by our members who will actively take part in the realization of the project and pilot projects and will be willing to share the results of their projects as well as the about 80 sector shareholders including authorities from the main industry, authorities from software and robotics companies, and the members of the Durable Consumables Council.

The program was coordinated by a moderator as in all our workshops. The moderator was Prof. Dr. Umit Ozlale, the Department Head of Economics of Ozyegin University and the program was enriched by exchanges that were held in sometimes small and sometimes big groups as in all our workshops.

We would like to thank firstly, Prof. Dr. Reha Civanlar, Vice Rector of Ozyegin University, the esteemed academics of the University and esteemed authorities of the Innovation Center for their support in this significant project as well as our valued participants who contributed in the making of the project via their important ideas and information and experience exchanges.

We cannot wait to share with you futher information regarding this important project in the upcoming days.
